Project 1: Peptide Drugs for Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC)

This project aims to develop novel, highly potent, and stable peptide-based agents as first-in-class drugs for targeted TNBC therapy.

We plan to synthesize and optimize 2nd generation of EphB4-targeting peptides, evaluate their pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and assess their antitumor and anti-metastasis efficacy in both syngeneic and human cell line-derived xenograft TNBC mouse models.
Project 2: Older Adults Hypertension (#Check, Monitor, Control)

Hypertension, if not checked and monitored, will become a risk factor for many chronic conditions.

Older adults are at risk for polypharmacy and medication-related problems, especially African Americans.

In this study, we will investigate the effectiveness of a pharmacist (drug expert) and a pharmacist + a community health worker (peer motivator) on BP control.
